Gerbag continues to show us how a proper dwarf should look like (outfit 1, 2, 3). This is his ceremonial armour, worn for special occasions.
The world is grey, the mountains old,
The forge's fire is ashen-cold;
No harp is wrung, no hammer falls:
The darkness dwells in Durin's halls;
The shadow lies upon his tomb
In Moria, in Khazad-dûm.
But still the sunken stars appear
In dark and windless Mirrormere;
There lies his crown in water deep,
Till Durin wakes again from sleep.

ReplyDeleteAnd now to add something useful. This is a great dwarvish outfit, but I've never liked this cloak. I don't see how European heraldic devices like Fleur-de-Lys and Lion Rampant have got into Middle Earth! It's a shame they couldn't have used "Hammer over Anvil" and "Stars of Mirrormere" instead. Apart from that, great colours.
