Guest: Tasmanian of Crickhollow

"It's lovely to live on a raft. We had the sky up there, all speckled with stars, and we used to lay on our backs and look up at them, and discuss about whether they was made or only just happened."
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain

Summer has come to Middle-Earth! And what can make a better spent early summer day than fishing on Brandywine? Correct answer is: for a decent hobbit, nothing (providing there is some elevenses, luncheon and a good snack packed on the boat). Tasmanian spent such day with his two buddies and caught a few tasty fish - pity they didn't last long enough to let anybody besides these three find out! :)
Evvy is a supplier of cute hobbit outfits - can't wait to see another one! :)

  1. Two hobbits fishing... my first thought was, "Smeagol and Deagol!" But no, it's the Brandywine of course, and they are nice looking hobbits. A bit unwise, messing about in a chancy thing like a boat though; it's almost an adventure!

Hmm, now that we can go to the banks of the Great River, could pre-gollum Smeagol be an interesting "challenge"?

    1. interesting idea Brrokk! i googled up some Smeagol's pictures, it might be actually an easy task to make the outfit itself - other story will be to take screenshots the way they are interesting :) do you have any good Smeagol's picture in mind that could make the outfit stand out?

    2. I'm afraid not, it was just the first thought that popped into my head when I saw this fishing scene. Unhelpful, I know. I'll go and Google "Smeagol" now, though. BTW, I don't see any need to stick to how the film portrays him: book comes first!

    3. you're helpful - the initial ideas are usually the kick I need :) however, I'll have to look up the passage about Smeagol's physical appearance, don't remember it anymore :( I'll see if I come up with something :)

  2. Not much to go on I'm afraid:

""Long after, but still very long ago, there lived by the banks of the Great River on the edge of Wilderland a clever-handed and quiet-footed little people. I guess they were of hobbit-kind; akin to the fathers of the fathers of the Stoors, for they loved the River, and often swam in it, or made little boats of reeds. There was among them a family of high repute, for it was large and wealthier than most, and it was ruled by a grandmother of the folk, stern and wise in old lore, such as they had. The most inquisitive and curious-minded of that family was called Sméagol. He was interested in roots and beginnings; he dived into deep pools; he burrowed under trees and growing plants; he tunnelled into green mounds; and he ceased to look up at the hill-tops, or the leaves on trees, or the flowers opening in the air: his head and his eyes were downward."

But maybe all this is detracting from the great scene in the screenshots. I really like the "Shire hobbits having an adventure in a chancy boat because they hope for a good supper" idea too!

    1. I can imagine, considering my superlong break... Anyway, you should let him stretch the bones and take him out, even hobbits need to excercise! :D
