Noro lim!

Rate:
Just as Glorfindel rode his horse Asfaloth in search of Frodo Baggins, Manequithir saddled his horse-friend in search for his fellowship. He'd found out they left for Sarnúr to hunt, leaving him behind healing from his wounds in Duillond. He was enraged as much as an elf can be, and left to pursue them. He knew they would be facing great dangers they don't even dream of there, because Sarnúr is no training grounds - it's a stronghold filled with Dourhands and their evil allies, capable of the most cruel deeds.

On the way, he saved a few dwarven lives from voracious wolves. The luck was by his side, because the group of dwarves, as they were leaving Blue Mountains to the elven lands, met his friends! Manequithir's friends haven't yet entered Sarnúr per their information, nor have been close to doing it very soon.

"There is still a chance I could catch them before going inside," Manequithir thought. Immediately he called back his horse, mounted it and cried: "Noro lim, noro lim!" His horse-friend didn't need more and set off for a great run, managing to catch the group leaving Noglond. What a relief!

I mentioned I'd purchased the Mithril Edition on sale earlier this week. Since then, I knew I gotta do an outfit around the beautiful Steed of the Horse-lords (some of you might have noticed my passion for red outfits). The only part I was struggling with was the boots choice, until I noticed the leggings have very pretty metallic parts down the trousers.

I didn't notice that before, as I use boots in 99% of outfits and those cover lower part of the leggings. I loved this detail, because together with shoes, the bottom of trousers looks like matching boots. I'm quite happy about this outfit and I'm seriously thinking of copying it on Frey, my little hunter main :)

Please let me know what do you think about the outfit in comments, or simly rate below the post's title :)

  1. I just saw this horse for the first time today, and I love it! My main prefers red outfits, and he's always struggling to figure out which mount to use with it. And this outfit goes great with the horse. I especially like how the chest and legs go together.

    1. thank you! what I like is the combination of blueish silver and red - it kind of balances the outfit a bit so it doesn't look "too red" :)

    2. Thanks! I've got a couple sets of pictures in reserve, but I'm toying with the idea of starting something with the Newbie Blogger thingie. Outfits and thoughts on captaining and such. I'll have some time this summer to play around with Blogspot to see if I want to do all the hard work like you do.

  4. Great job! I could never find a match for that cloak :)

I just wish they had made the hanging bear paws and metallic parts actually move with the horse, instead of plastered into the graphic.

    1. good catch, and I also wish the metallic parts were brighter (in a similar way as the chestpiece and leggings I used). but it's a pretty horse nevertheless :)

      and thanks for compliment! :)

  5. That horse looks like it would be tough to match, but you have made it look effortless! I really like the bold combination of colours. He looks like a very noble elf-warrior. :)

  6. I'm not usually much of a fan when it comes to mixing and matching colours, unless it's something like Evendim Blue or Ered Luin blue to contrast, but this outfit just takes the cake! Very well done!!

  7. Ooh, love it. I think you were super-smart to let the metal bits of the leggings show. That's a great detail.

    1. actually, I'm not very observant towards such small details, which makes me worried :( this time, it was pure luck that I tried out shoes also, not just boots. I gotta be more attentive, who knows how many nice details I usually skip :D

    1. thank you! I'm totally biased towards this colour and I'd be happiest if all my characters wore red. unfortunately, it often looks too cartoonish :( I'm happy in this case the silver balances it.
