When I learned there were store exclusive versions of 5th Anniversary gift boxes cosmetics, I had to buy them. Right now. I missed the ones given to 4th year players, because I registered 2 weeks later than the eligibility date (you can imagine my disappointment when I found out). So now I had to make myself happy with the most beautiful LOTRO dress ever, and an account-wide steed! Yay!
Edits: After publishing this post, I've received numerous requests for previews on different races, genders and in different dyes. Unfortunately, dressing room preview of this items is broken at the moment. It took me a while but I've added all the previews to this post. Enjoy!
Note: Dyes on woman's preview are: red, white, turquoise, orange, black and pink (below). All other previews were taken in default dye (crimson).

Reveller's Gilded Party Dress
As you can see, the dress has really beautiful shiny textures in most of the dyes. I was surprised that in black, it becomes pretty dull compared to other dyed variations, but it's still very pretty.
Reveller's Gilded Tunic & Trousers
Unfortunately, the Tunic doesn't glitter the same way. Quite frankly, it's pretty boring, so I guess the dress will be much more used than the tunic.
Reveller's Gilded Cloak
And finally, the cloak - it's unusual appearance and dyability will surely make it frequently used cosmetic in the near future. It shares the matt textures of the tunic & trousers.

I will surely make outfits matching the mount in future, as well as outfits using Reveller's Gilded cosmetics. I just need a right inspiration for nice combination, not only putting all the pieces together and calling it an outfit :) However, even such straightforward combination will surely yield a lot of admiring looks to anyone wearing the cosmetics.
WooT now I won't have to feel guilty about using my 4-yr loyalty cosmetics on my blog because everyone can get something similar and just as nice!
ReplyDeleteI bought the Reveller's cosmetic bundle but I passed on the Steed. The blue one is nice enough for festive occasions and I wouldn't use it much anyway.
you know I'm more of a "red person", so I'm happy I have the red one :) it's also quite nice from Turbine that the "oldtimers" got whole set free, but those who really want can buy it and even account-wide.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I'm sooooo excited! Red is my main's color of choice for outfits (my favorite color) so this is even better than the free ones for me. I love that dress so much. But crimson or white? I'm not sure I can decide!
ReplyDeleteI see we have very similar colour taste - I also couldn't decide between red and white... but this dress looks so great that I want it in all colours at the same time :)) I think the designers did a really good job. also, the body shape it creates on females is very pretty, which some dresses lack.

ReplyDeleteI bought the cloak, and it doesn't look anything like the pictures shown on the store website or the screenshots shown above. My cloak is solid red with some faint gold swiggles. It doesn't show all the designs or the wings in a lighter shade. Is this a problem with ultra low res, or is my cloak somehow defective? I bought the other two outfits, and they are true to the photos.

There's the same issue with the four-year cloaks. I was playing during the anniversary on Low res, and secretly wondered why everyone was running around wearing these ugly cloaks. Then I saw what they looked like to everybody else with decent graphics cards and I understood.
Deletefrankly, I hope they'll fix it some day (although it's low prio for sure). it's a pity players with minimum requirements can't enjoy the cloaks as beautiful as they are :(
DeleteMy cloak looks exactly like the one in the link provided by Freyjuska. I will have to up my resolution and see what it really looks like. Unfortunately, I can't actually play the game unless I use the ultra low res. :( The cloak actually DOES look nice dyed white on ultra low res, though; it's just when it is colored that the problem occurs.

DeleteI dyed my cloak white, because, after all, if I'm going to spend hours looking at my character's back, I don't want to look at an ugly cloak. I looked at the original version of the cloak under every setting from ultra low res to ultra high, and it still looks the same. I have DirectX9 and an old Intel graphics card, so maybe this cloak is incompatible with my computer?
DeleteThey fixed the cloak! As of Update 7, the issue with the cloaks looking strange on some computers has been fixed. Horray!

DeleteFor the dress, the only real difference from the 4 year reward is the extra gold "belt." The reward dress also dyes very nicely, retaining its silky, shiny texture with most dyes. The store dress will be great for anyone who missed the 4 year reward, but unless you really love the extra gold, just dye your reward dress and spend your TP on something else.
ReplyDeleteactually there is a bit more difference in gilding as well (the store cosmetics are more elaborate than the reward ones). however, some people like the simpler set much more (I personally prefer simpler dress and elaborate hauberk). however, what I think is worth spending TP on for sure is the horse - it's really eye-catching and I love the blanket colour.

DeleteThis is horrible... I never buy Store steeds and such, but this red and gold steed... I *have* to get it! My Haradrim champion wears the traditional red and gold, and this steed would match perfectly. I will have to save up Turbine Points, though. Do you know if it will be available forever, or is it an offer for a limited period of time?
ReplyDeleteit's a limited offer until May 24th, so saving up a lot of points isn't an option (unless you have some tricks up the sleeve :). there were no mentions if the Reveller's stuff would return later, but so far most of store sales did. this one is more or less tied to the Annivesary, so who knows :/
Delete... Has no one noted, bothered to mention or simply not seen that this tunic doesn't attach to the characters' heads? There is a profound gap of space, a complete detachment of the head from the neck, in the pictures above with the elves, hobbits and dwarf. For people that put so much interest into Fashion and "look", this is a completely unacceptable disaster.
ReplyDeleteI'm not quite sure what do you mean - checked the pictures and from the front, I don't see any detachment of the head from the neck. from the back, that's a different story, but it's not a problem of the tunic, but cloak - it forms a hunchback on some characters. this is, however, a common features of many old cloaks (the "plain ones").
